Help! My RV toilet smells like rotten eggs!
Are we talking sh#! again
Of course we are! This is “RV Must Haves” after all, and every RV must have a method in place to remove the sewage smell from our personal porta-potties. Installing a black tank plumbing air vent will do just the trick.
If you live in an RV full-time, or even part-time, then you know that smells from your black tank can be a constant battle. You also know, if you’re a regular here, we have a few tricks up our sleeves to keep those odors at bay.
For starters, I always recommend the best RV toilet ever!
Secondly, if you’re wondering how to get rid of holding tank oder, I definitely recommend the best RV Holding Tank Treatment! This is hands-down the best method to kill the smell most of the time.
But those are old posts, and you didn’t come here to read them (you should). You came here to learn about another trick that we have found to eliminate those nasty black tank odors.
Today’s tip has to do with the smells you get when someone just finished using the toilet, especially after flushing. The problem is, when they flush, the smells in the black tank can flow back up into your RV. Unless, of course, you have the Camco White or Black Cyclone Sewer Plumbing Air Vent.
The Best RV Black Tank Sewer Plumbing Air Vent – the Camco Cyclone:
The cool thing about this nifty little device is that it constantly creates an updraft through the plumbing air vent, pulling bad odors up and out of your RV, motorhome, 5th wheel, or travel trailer.
Have you ever noticed that on windy days, you start to get that unpleasant sewage smell? It’s likely because air is blowing down into your black tank system and getting pushed into your living area.
This air vent will take care of that in a jiffy!
Yes, I said jiffy… don’t judge me.
Some cool features of the Camco Cyclone Plumbing Air Vent:
- Uses wind power to suck black tank odors out of your RV
- Swivels in all directions, following the wind, for maximum pull
- Can be easily attached to any RV, or travel trailer, plumbing air vent
- Comes in white OR black to match most RV exteriors
- UV resistant & Rust-proof
