One of your first tasks when parking for an extended period of time is to level your RV or travel trailer. With this Bullseye RV level, you can easily check how level you are just by taking a quick glance. You have the option to mount the leveler, or you can just pull it out when you need it and put it away when you don’t. Many people prefer the latter option.
Why does an RV need to be level?
If you aren’t aware, you may be wondering “Why level my motorhome?” The reason has more to do with function than comfort. The function of your refrigerator that is. The fridge in your RV, 5th wheel, or travel trailer is different than that of your residential counterparts, unless of course who have a newer class A motorhome with a residential fridge.
To save electricity, an RV fridge runs on the concept of Ammonia evaporating into Hydrogen to create cooling. The only way for the Ammonia to become condensed and become a gas is by heating, along with water, it in a boiler using propane (or in some cases electricity). This causes the Ammonia to rise through a tube and separate from the water which returns to the boiler. Because gravity plays a part in moving these liquids around, through the tubes, the fridge needs to be level in order for the process to work properly. In order for the fridge to be level, your RV must be level.
Aside from all that, it also helps your ice-maker to be level. In addition, you don’t want stuff rolling off of counter tops or drawers sliding open, etc. With this RV level, you won’t have any issues and you can sleep soundly… and level!
